Russian, Israeli Defense Officials To Discuss Security In Middle East On Wednesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th December, 2018) Russian and Israeli defense officials will meet Wednesday in Moscow to discuss security issues in the middle East, including the situation in Syria.
The Russian Defense Ministry will host the talks, during which the sides may also discuss Israel's Operation Northern Shield, aimed at exposing and neutralizing cross-border attack tunnels that the Hezbollah militants dug from Lebanon into Israel.
The Russian side will be represented by the deputy chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff, Maj. Gen. Vasily Trushin, while the Israeli side by the head of the Israel Defense Forces Operations Directorate, Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva.
The meeting will be held in accordance with the agreements reached during Saturday's telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
