Russian Su-27 jets followed US B-52H strategic bombers over the Baltic Sea twice over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd March, 2019) Russian Su-27 jets followed US B-52H strategic bombers over the Baltic Sea twice over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday.

"Russian Su-27 fighters ... escorted B-52H bombers of the US Air Force, flying in airspace over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, twice over the past 24 hours," the statement reads, adding that the Russian jets did not allow foreign strategic bombers to approach the Russian border.

The ministry noted that since March 14, US Air Force strategic aircraft have already performed seven flights over the Baltic Sea.
