Russian, Jordanian Foreign Ministers Discuss Syria, Libya, Palestine - Moscow

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th April, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday discussed situation in Libya, Syria and Palestine with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, during talks in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in its statement.
"The heads of foreign ministers discussed in detail the latest developments in the middle East and North Africa with an emphasis on the evolving situation in Syria, Libya and the Palestinian territories," the ministry said.
According to the statement, the ministers reaffirmed the interest of Moscow and Amman in further coordination of approaches to settlement of the crisis and conflicts ongoing in the Middle East.
Lavrov and Safadi also discussed expansion of Russian-Jordanian relations with an emphasis on the implementation of agreements reached within the Russian-Jordanian intergovernmental commission meeting held in November 2018 in Moscow on the development of trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two states.
Tuesday's discussions took place on the margins of the 5th Ministerial Session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum in Moscow. Russian trade, economic and investment cooperation with the countries of the Arab world, as well as crisis in Syria, Libya, Yemen were among the main points of the meeting's agenda.
