Chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev plans to send a proposal to his counterpart in the US Congress to develop cooperation between their two committees in 2019.<

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th November, 2018) Chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev plans to send a proposal to his counterpart in the US Congress to develop cooperation between their two committees in 2019.

"We are waiting for the formation of a new committee on foreign affairs starting from January 1.

After that, I intend to send proposals to the new chairman to renew the interaction between the committees that were previously sent to [ex-chairman] Bob Corker [who was not re-elected] and that remained unfulfilled, though they are still actual," Kosachev told Sputnik.

The United States held its midterm elections on November 6. Democrats took control of the House of Representatives, while Republicans retained majority in the Senate.
