Russian Military Got 18,000 Ratnik Gear Sets in 2019 - Rostec State Corporation

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2020) Russia's Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Building (TsNIITochMash) supplied the Russian military with 18,000 sets of Ratnik infantry gear in 2019, a spokesperson of the Rostec state corporation told Sputnik.

The Ratnik kits were delivered in six different versions: basic, commander, sniper, machine gunner, marksman and armored vehicle crew, the spokesperson said.

According to Rostec Executive Director Oleg Yevtushenko, the Ratnik gear consists of five integrated systems: defeat, defense, control, life support and energy supply - a combination that provides maximum efficiency and protection in combat conditions.

The Russian military has been regularly supplied with the Ratnik infantry gear since 2015. In the summer of last year, Rostec said that in 2020 Russia was going to start to develop third-generation infantry combat gear, dubbed Sotnik, that was intended to replace Ratnik gear.
