MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th December, 2018) The Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation said in a statement on Thursday that it had registered ceasefire violations in 11 locations in Syria's Idlib de-escalation zone over the past 24 hours.
"Over the past day, terrorists shelled Jubb-al-Zarur (four times), Safsara (three times), Ikko, Bsharfa, Darh-Abu-Asad and Beyt-Ziwan, Latakia province, Tell-Bazzam and Kornaz in Hama province, Mharet-Marza, Aleppo province, Sukkari district (two times), as well as north-western outskirts of Aleppo," the statement read.
The reconciliation center has called on the leaders of illegal armed groups to join the reconciliation process.
"As part of the implementation of the decree of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic B. Assad dated November 9, 2018, the Syrian authorities continue to work on amnesty for those who evade from military service ... As for December 12, 2018, in total 16,829 were granted amnesty," the statement noted.
Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. Russia along with Turkey and Iran are guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria.
