Russian Military Vehicles Participate In Lao Army's Anniversary Parade - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th January, 2019) The Russian military equipment used by Laos took part in a parade marking the founding of the Lao People's Armed Forces, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

"The Russian military equipment, acquired by the Lao People's Democratic Republic, was demonstrated at a military parade dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Armed Forces," the statement read.

The military equipment included upgraded T-72 tanks and BRDM-2M armored vehicles, according to the statement.

Russia is supplying arms and military equipment to Laos as part of technical and military assistance as well as agreements reached during Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu's visit to the southeastern Asian nation last year.
