Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin held a meeting with his North Korean counterpart, Im Chon Il, on Saturday, to discuss regional and international issues, with a special focus on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and its settlement with use of the UN Security Council potential, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th March, 2019) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin held a meeting with his North Korean counterpart, Im Chon Il, on Saturday, to discuss regional and international issues, with a special focus on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and its settlement with use of the UN Security Council potential, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"During the traditionally constructive talks, various regional and international problems, which are being discussed at UN platforms, were tackled. A special focus was placed on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the task of its comprehensive settlement with due use of the UN Security Council potential," the statement read.
