WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th April, 2019) Maria Butina's lawyer Robert Driscoll told Sputnik on Friday he is optimistic about today's sentencing hearing for the Russian national, who has requested a sentence of time served after being convicted on charges of conspiring to act as a foreign agent in the United States.

"I am optimistic," Driscoll said at the US District Court for the District of Columbia shortly before the hearing was due to get underway.
