The Russian Navy is considering the possibility to increase the group of Borei nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines from eight to 10, a source told Sputnik Tuesday
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th March, 2019) The Russian Navy is considering the possibility to increase the group of Borei nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines from eight to 10, a source told Sputnik Tuesday.
"Commissioning additional two strategic submarines of Borei-class to bring the total number to 10 is under consideration," the source said.
Current plans envision eight Borei-class submarines, with three already in service of the Navy and the fourth expected to be transferred to the military in 2019.
