Russian President, Canadian Prime Minister Have Brief Talk at Paris Peace Forum - Reports

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th November, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have had a small conversation on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum, which is currently being held in the French capital to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, local media reported.

During their brief chat, Trudeau "acknowledged the Russian people's extraordinary sacrifices through the two World Wars, therefore it's important to have Russian representation here to talk about peace," the Canadian prime minister's office said, as quoted by the CTV news broadcaster.

The tv channel has also showed photographs depicting Putin and Trudeau sitting next to each other during the event.

The first ever Paris Peace Forum is taking place in the French capital on November 11-13. The event, which has brought together delegations from about 60 countries of the world, serves as a platform for the discussion of a wide range of issues, including global governance, security and terrorism threat.
