Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will head the Russian delegation at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Papua New Guinea on November 17-18, the Russian government's press service told Sputnik on Wednesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th November, 2018) Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will head the Russian delegation at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Papua New Guinea on November 17-18, the Russian government's press service told Sputnik on Wednesday.

"On November 17-18, head of the Russian government Dmitry Medvedev will take part in the 26th summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, which will take place in Port Moresby [Papua New Guinea]," the press service said.

According to the press service, during the meeting the leaders and heads of government of the APEC member states will discuss the pressing issues on the global and regional agendas.

The participants will pay special attention to the promotion of the digital economy development in order to ensure sustainable and inclusive economic growth, the press service added.

"Following the discussion a joint declaration will be adopted," the press service indicated.

APEC is a regional economic forum that aims to strengthen regional economic integration among its 21 members: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam.
