MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th September, 2018) Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will chair a cabinet meeting on import substitution in radio-electronic products on Tuesday, the government's press service said.
"Dmitry Medvedev will hold a meeting on import substitution in radio-electronic products and the development of the sales market of Russian electronic component base," the government said in a statement.
The meeting will be also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich, and Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin, as well as chiefs of relevant companies.
The meeting will take place on the territory of Research Production Enterprise ITELMA, specializing in the production of electronic automobile equipment.
In recent years, the issue of import substitution has been gaining momentum in Russia due to multiple Western sanctions imposed on the country over reunification with Crimea, the alleged involvement in the Ukraine crisis and the Salisbury poisoning case.
