Russian Prosecution Files Criminal Case Against Ukrainian National Memory Institute Head

The chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, Volodymyr Viatrovych, is suspected of crimes against peace and safety of mankind, the Russian Investigative Committee said Thursday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th March, 2019) The chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, Volodymyr Viatrovych, is suspected of crimes against peace and safety of mankind, the Russian Investigative Committee said Thursday.

"The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, Volodymyr Viatrovych, over rehabilitation of Nazism under Part 2 of Article 354.1," the statement said.

Russia's law against rehabilitation of Nazism, also known as Yarovaya law, criminalizes denial of the Nuremberg trial rulings, approval of Nazi crimes and dissemination of false information on the Soviet Union's activities during the WWII.
