The Russian and Syrian leaders closely coordinated while working on the memorandum on Idlib, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad said Wednesday.

"All Russian initiatives during the Syrian crisis were aimed at achieving a political, peaceful settlement.

Syria's latest initiative is also estimated as one leading in the right direction. Coordination between the leadership of Syria and Russia during its preparation was at the highest level in order to come out with such a memorandum," Haddad told reporters.
