Russian Top Diplomat, Palestinian Ambassador Discuss Escalation Around Gaza - Moscow

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal discussed on Monday the recent escalation of tensions in the Gaza Strip and stressed the need to refrain from aggressive rhetoric in tackling the issue, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th March, 2019) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal discussed on Monday the recent escalation of tensions in the Gaza Strip and stressed the need to refrain from aggressive rhetoric in tackling the issue, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"During the conversation, the dramatic deterioration of situation in the Gaza Strip, which might result in an armed confrontation between the Israelis and the Palestinians [accompanied by] serious damage and victims among the civilians was discussed. In this context, [the two parties] stressed the need to refrain from aggressive rhetoric and take relevant measures in order to prevent a further development of the situation following a negative scenario," the statement said.
