Russia's Atomenergomash Says To Cooperate With PW Power Systems On Gas Turbines Production

SOCHI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th April, 2019) Russia's Atomenergomash power engineering company, a division of Rosatom, said on Tuesday that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with PW Power Systems (PWPS), a group company of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, to cooperate in joint production of gas turbines.
The document, signed on the sidelines of the 11th Atomexpo International Forum in the Russian city of Sochi, prescribes the cooperation on the creation of small and medium-sized gas turbine power plants, as well as the possibility of localizing the production of certain components of gas turbine plants in Russia.
In accordance with the memorandum, joint projects of the two companies can be implemented on the energy markets of Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as in other countries if a relevant agreement is reached.
PW Power Systems designs, manufactures, supplies, and services aircraft engines, auxiliary and ground power units, small turbojet propulsion products, and industrial gas turbines. The company, formerly known as Pratt and Whitney Power Systems, has over 2,000 gas turbine units in more than 50 countries. The company was acquired by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 2013.
