Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) Intercepts Radical Cell Funding IS in Syria, Arrests 3 People - Statement

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) intercepted a radical group operating on the territory of Krasnodar Krai, Dagestan and Adygea regions to collect money for the Islamic State (terror group, banned in Russia) in Syria, the FSB said in statement Monday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st January, 2019) The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) intercepted a radical group operating on the territory of Krasnodar Krai, Dagestan and Adygea regions to collect money for the Islamic State (terror group, banned in Russia) in Syria, the FSB said in statement Monday.

"Following the instructions of the emissaries of the international terror organization, members of the radical cell collected and transferred funds to support their affiliates in Syria under the guise of a charity," the FSB said.

The cell has transferred over 10 million rubles (some $150,000) to terrorists, according to the statement.

Three suspects were arrested on a court decision over facilitating terrorism and pleaded guilty, the FSB added.
