Russia's FSB Says Detained Several Suspected IS Recruiters In Norilsk City

KRASNOYARSK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd August, 2018) Officers of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) together with the Interior Ministry and the National Guard detained suspected terrorists in the city of Norilsk who recruited the region's residents to the ranks of the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia), the press service of the FSB department for the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported on Wednesday.
"The officers suppressed the activities of the terrorist cell focused on the ideology of the international terrorist organization IS "(banned in Russia).
... The organizers of the terrorist cell are detained," the department said.
Members of the group inclined and recruited residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory to participate in armed conflicts on the side of terrorists, and publicly called for carrying out terrorist activities, it explained.
The investigation is ongoing, some of the suspects plead guilty to charges brought to them, it added.
