MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st November, 2018) Russian train car manufacturer Metrowagonmash sees African states as a promising market, in particular, for passenger cars, which are planned for production in the future, the company's CEO, Boris Bogatyrev, told reporters on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, more than 20 ambassadors as well as representatives of a number of diplomatic missions visited the company's plant in the city of Mytishchi at the invitation of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"Ambassadors visited us today, and they are very interested. In addition to subway cars, we will complete certification of railbuses in 2019. African states are very interested. I think this is a promising market, and we will start delivering railbuses to both Latin America and Africa," Bogatyrev said after their visit.
The company successfully exports its products, the top manager stressed.
"This year we delivered metro cars to Azerbaijan for the Baku Metro, completed a project for the Budapest Metro, and carried out an intensive train upgrade," the top manager said.
Bogatyrev said that the company's products, including the 765th model of the train named Moscow, were shown to the diplomats.
"This train has been successfully operating for two years in the Moscow metro. We have delivered more than 500 cars [of this series] to Moscow and are planning further deliveries. Now we are actively developing a new train [called] 2020," he said.
The new train will feature many innovative solutions, and both Muscovites and the capital's guests will enjoy having this train in Moscow, he stressed.
