MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th April, 2019) Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has held consultations with South Korean counterparts on Moscow-Seoul cooperation in defense, cyber-security and counteracting drug trafficking, the council said Thursday.

"The consultations focused on the prospects for defense cooperation between Russia and South Korea, interaction in the field of international information security, as well as joint plans for combating drug trafficking, organized crime and extremism," the council said.

Patrushev has also expressed confidence that the summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will boost the negotiations on the nuclear problem of the Korean Peninsula, the council's press service added.
