Russia's Ryabkov, Iranian Ambassador Discuss Situation With JCPOA - Moscow

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd April, 2019) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Iranian Ambassador in Moscow Mehdi Sanaei on Monday discussed the situation with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"A comprehensive exchange of views on topical international issues, including the situation with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program, took place [on Monday]," the statement read.
The JCPOA was signed in 2015 by Iran, the European Union and the P5+1 group of countries � China, Germany, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Last May, Washington decided to withdraw from the deal and restore wide-ranging sanctions on Iran.
