Russia's Shoigu, France's Parly Discuss In Phone Call Il-20 Plane Incident In Syria

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed French Defense Minister Florence Parly in a phone call on Tuesday about the circumstances of the Il-20 plane crash in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th September, 2018) Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed French Defense Minister Florence Parly in a phone call on Tuesday about the circumstances of the Il-20 plane crash in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"On September 18, on the initiative of the French side, a telephone conversation took place between Russian Defense Minister General of the Army [Sergei] Shoigu and French Defense Minister [Florence] Parly," the ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, Shoigu notified his colleague about the known circumstances of the crash of the Russian Il-20 aircraft off the coast of Syria, which led to the tragic death of 15 Russian servicemen.
