Saudi Arabia reduces Zamzam bottle size to 5 litres for pilgrims

The administration of King Abdullah Project for Zamzam has announced that the pilgrims will now be given five litres of Zamzam instead of ten litres.

Riyadh (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th February, 2019) Saudi Arabia has decided to give only five litre bottle of Zamzam to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

The administration of King Abdullah Project for Zamzam has announced that the pilgrims will now be given five litres of Zamzam instead of ten litres.

The organizations supplying Zamzam to the pilgrims have been directed to follow the orders.

According to the administration, the decision has been taken to create a balance between supply and demand.

The number of pilgrims going to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah will increase in the coming years due to Saudi Vision 2030.

The administration wants that every pilgrim should be facilitated with the water. This is why the size of the bottles has been reduced.

The 5-litre Zamzam bottles have been supplied to the authorities at King Abdullah International Airport and Madina Munawara International Airport. The passengers will be able to take these bottles along.

The administration has requested the pilgrims to not buy Zamzam bottles from those selling it on roads as nobody knows if that is the real Zamzam or not.

Moreover, these people sell Zamzam by putting water canes under the sun which reduces the healing power of the water.

The local government of Makkah is also carrying out an operation against people selling Zamzam on footpaths and stalls.

The local government has warned of legal action against those selling Zamzam through these means.
