The Saudi minister of Islamic affairs, endowments, call and guidance, Saleh bin Abdul-Aziz Al ash-Sheikh, in an interview with Sputnik praised the status of religious freedom in Russia

CAIRO (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st January, 2019) The Saudi minister of Islamic affairs, endowments, call and guidance, Saleh bin Abdul-Aziz Al ash-Sheikh, in an interview with Sputnik praised the status of religious freedom in Russia.

"Russia has become open in the field of respect of religious freedoms (after the collapse of the USSR), implements a fair policy in this area giving people full rights.

People should be free in their religion, but they should also take care of homeland. These are our Muslim brothers in Russia," the minister said.

The minister took place in the 29th Conference of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Cairo, which concluded on Sunday. On the sidelines of the conference, the minister held talks with the head of the Russian delegation, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council Rushan Abbyasov.
