The second Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum will be held on June 6-7 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the Roscongress Foundation, Russia's major organizer of conferences and exhibitions, said on Tuesday
"The Forum aims to deepen the dialogue between Russia and China in the energy sector, improve the efficiency and enhance the portfolio of joint projects as well as attract investments. Its business programme includes panel discussions on key issues concerning Russian-Chinese energy cooperation in the oil and gas industry, nuclear energy, electric power industry, and banking sector," the foundation said in a statement.
The first Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum was hosted by Beijing in November, bringing together around 90 companies from both countries, as well as politicians and experts.
The forum is organized alternately by Russian oil giant Rosneft and China National Petroleum Corporation. The Roscongress Foundation will assist Rosneft in organizing the event this year. Russia's Presidential Commission for the Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security and China's National Energy Commission will act as coordinators.
The SPIEF 2019 will be held in Russia's St. Petersburg on June 6-8. The forum has been held since 1997 and is now one of the key annual business events in Russia. Last year's edition drew about 17,000 participants from 143 countries.
