Senior Indian DiplomatMeenakashi Lekhi To Visit Uzbekistan, Switzerland From September 23-30 - New Delhi

Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakashi Lekhi will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan and Switzerland from September 23-30, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said on Wednesday

NEW DELHI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2021) Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakashi Lekhi will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan and Switzerland from September 23-30, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said on Wednesday.

"Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture (MoS) Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi will pay an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Swiss Confederation from 23-30 September 2021," the ministry said in a statement.

During the visit to Uzbekistan from September 23-26, the diplomat will meet with Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and Culture Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov. She will be deliver a lecture on India's democratic traditions at the Tashkent State University of Law, among other things.

While in Switzerland from September 27-30, Lekhi is set to hold talks with the Federal authorities, including Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.

"(Lekhi) will address the inaugural NZZ Impact Finance Conference on 'Infrastructure in emerging markets - an engine of growth and real impact' as well as the Annual General Meeting of Swiss-India Chamber of Commerce. MoS will also interact with Indo-Swiss community and will meet with the members of international community in Geneva," the statement read.

The ministry added that the trip would contribute to "sustaining the momentum in our bilateral ties with both these countries."
