Belgrade expects deliveries of four Mi-35 attack helicopters and three Mi-17 transport helicopters with armed assault capabilities from Russia this year, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday
Vucic noted that the agreements on the deliveries had been reached before the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Serbia, which took place a day before.
"This year, we expect seven new helicopters. These are four Mi-35, one of the most advanced and best attack helicopters, and three Mi-17, transport helicopters with armed assault capabilities," Vucic told reporters.
This year, Serbia also expects deliveries from Airbus Helicopters SAS under the December 2016 contract, the president recalled. The agreement includes supplies of nine H145M multirole helicopters, their fitting as well as training of pilots.
"Only this year, Serbia will get more good helicopters than it did over the past 30 years," Vucic noted.
Back in August, Vucic said that Serbia expected deliveries of up to 10 Russian-made helicopters in the course of 12-14 months.
