MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th April, 2019) Belgrade hopes that work on the Serbian section of the TurkStream gas pipeline will be completed before the end of 2019, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday.
"We have already begun to work. We expect that the work will be completed by the end of this year," he said at a press conference in Moscow.
The Serbian section of TurkStream is about 400 kilometers (250 miles) long, Dacic specified.
The TurkStream twin pipeline will have a maximum capacity of 31.
5 billion cubic meters (1.1 trillion cubic feet) a year. The first leg will deliver Russian gas under the Black Sea to Turkey for local consumption, while the second leg is expected to carry gas further to Southern and Central Europe.
In March, Serbian Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic said that the construction of the extension of the TurkStream gas pipeline in Serbia, which will help transport Russian gas from Bulgaria to Hungary, was scheduled to begin in April.
