Serbian Foreign Minister to Meet With Lavrov During Russia Visit in April - Ambassador

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Serbian counterpart, Ivica Dacic, are expected to hold a meeting during the latter's visit to Moscow in April, Serbian Ambassador to Russia Slavenko Terzic said on Friday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 29th March, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Serbian counterpart, Ivica Dacic, are expected to hold a meeting during the latter's visit to Moscow in April, Serbian Ambassador to Russia Slavenko Terzic said on Friday.

Earlier in March, the Serbian government said that Dacic, who also serves as first deputy prime minister, would visit Russia in April to mark the 140th anniversary of the opening of Serbia's first diplomatic office in St. Petersburg.

"We are developing, I would say, very good, even excellent political relations [with Russia].

[We hold] annual meetings that probably take place 4-5 times between our presidents and foreign ministers. For example, our First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic will arrive on April 17. He will meet with [Russian Foreign] Minister Lavrov. We [Serbia and Russia] have a lively political dialogue," Terzic noted.

Russia and Serbia established diplomatic ties back in 1838, and have since been dynamically developing their relationship. Earlier this month, Dacic said that trade between Russia and Serbia increased by about $500 million in 2018 and exceeded $3 billion.
