Serial Production Of Il-114-300 Airliners To Begin In 2021 - MiG Aircraft Corporation

The first Russian Il-114-300 airliner will be manufactured in 2020, while the plane's serial production will begin in 2021, Ilya Tarasenko, the director general of the Russian MiG aircraft corporation, said on Tuesday.

"We are currently elaborating with the Ilyushin Aviation Complex [aircraft manufacturer] design documentation and simultaneously proceeding with the technical re-equipment of our company. We have been defined as this plane's manufacturer. We stick to the schedule.
The first aircraft might appear in late 2020, while the serial production and the deliveries to our airlines will begin in 2021," Tarasenko said.
The Il-114 airliner was developed in the Soviet Union and initially was intended for regional flights. Manufacturing began in the 1980s. In 2016, the implementation of the program for the Il-114 aircraft's modernization was launched at the request of the Russian United Aircraft Corporation.
The deliveries of the modernized planes were initially due to begin in 2020-2021.
