Shoigu Expects to Coordinate Russian, Turkish Activities in Syria During Visit to Ankara

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Monday he expected to negotiate Russian-Turkish joint activities in Syria during his visit to Ankara

ANKARA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th February, 2019) Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Monday he expected to negotiate Russian-Turkish joint activities in Syria during his visit to Ankara.

"Thank you for the warm welcome in Ankara.

I expect that we will be able to coordinate our actions in Syria ahead of the meeting of the presidents of Russia, Turkey and Iran on February 14 in Sochi," Shoigu told his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar.

The minister added that Russian and Turkish experts had already agreed on the most important issues of the Syrian settlement, including situation in Idlib and the Euphrates east bank during a series of meetings from January 31 to February 2.
