BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st March, 2019) Russia has fully completed its engineer work on its side of the first Russian-Chinese cross-border railway bridge over the Amur River, the authorities of China's Heilongjiang province said on Thursday, adding that the two sides of the bridge were connected.
China finished the construction of its side of the bridge, creating a direct link between the settlement of Nizhneleninskoye in Russia's Jewish Autonomous Region and China's northeastern border city of Tongjiang, last October.
"In the early hours of March 20, the last steel beam of the Russian-Chinese railway bridge over Heilong Jiang was installed. The Russian side has fully completed its engineer work. This means the successful connection of the main span of the first Russian-Chinese cross-border railway bridge," the provincial government said in a statement.
