At least 6 Palestinians were killed and about 20 others wounded in the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which started on Monday evening, medics said Tuesday.
Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the health ministry in Gaza, told reporters that two were killed on Tuesday morning in two separate airstrikes on the northern Gaza Strip and eastern Gaza city, and three others in in the airstrikes on Monday night.
The sixth succumbed to his wounds sustained on Monday evening in an Israeli airstrike on eastern Rafah town in the southern Gaza Strip, he added.
The death toll in the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since Sunday has grown to 13, all militants, with 30 injured, al-Qedra said.
Since Monday evening, Israeli war planes have destroyed eight structures across the Gaza Strip, including the al-Aqsa tv building, Ansar security compound and al-Amal interior security headquarters.
Israeli and Palestinian media reported that more than 350 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel, while Israel launched more than 100 airstrikes on Gaza military facilities, homes and structures belonging to Hamas.
Earlier in the day, Abu Oneida, spokesman of Hamas armed wing al-Qassam Brigades, blamed Israeli leadership for "what happened in Ashkelon.""It's a warning that the coming is greater in case the aggression goes on, with strikes that you have never known before," he warned in a tweet.
