Spain Urges EU To Act Together On Venezuela - Foreign Minister

MEXICO CITY (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th January, 2019) Spain calls on the European Union to take a joint approach to the crisis in Venezuela, Foreign Minister Josep Borrell said Wednesday.

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido has told a mass rally in Caracas he assumes executive powers as acting president.

Hundreds of thousands are reported to be protesting nationwide.

"We must preserve EU's unity of action amid an institutional crisis in Venezuela. We are working to make a decision together as quickly as necessary," Borrell tweeted.

The top diplomat said Spain was concerned about the Spanish diaspora in Venezuela and was not going to rush into any decisions on Venezuela without having all necessary information.
