Retired persons are marching on Monday across Spain to demand better pensions following similar mass protests in March.

MADRID (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 01st October, 2018) Retired persons are marching on Monday across Spain to demand better pensions following similar mass protests in March.

The rallies are taking place in Madrid, Seville, Pamplona, Valladolid, Granada, Valencia and other cities.

The protests have been supported by The Workers' Commissions and the General Union of Workers trade unions.

In the past four years, pensions have been rising in Spain by 0.25 percent annually, the minimum level provided by law. Last week, a Spanish parliamentary commission agreed on making adjustments to the country's pension reform, under which the pension increase will be tied to changes in the consumer price index.
