States that deploy US missile defense systems on their territory risk to become first combat targets as well as radioactively contaminated zones, First Deputy Head of the Main Operational Directorate at the Russian General Staff, Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir, said on Wednesday at the Moscow Conference on International Security

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th April, 2019) States that deploy US missile defense systems on their territory risk to become first combat targets as well as radioactively contaminated zones, First Deputy Head of the Main Operational Directorate at the Russian General Staff, Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir, said on Wednesday at the Moscow Conference on International Security.

"A negative factor for regional security is the increased level of threats to the states on the territories of which US air defense systems are deployed or will be deployed. They should be aware that information and fire missile defense systems are the Primary combat targets," Poznikhir said.

He added that using air defense systems were also linked to the threat of radioactive contamination.
