MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 27th March, 2019) A study, published Wednesday, found that 90 percent of the surveyed nursery schools in Germany suffered significant stuff shortage in the last 12 months at the time when demand for daycare services is particularly high.

"Almost 90 percent of the surveyed daycare centers have been faced with significant staff shortage in the last 12 months," the study published by the VBE union found.

The survey showed that seven out of 10 nurseries spent more than three months filling vacancies, three out of 10 needed at least five months, while in some cases the daycare centers needed more than six months to find the staff.

The report on survey results remarked that the lack of staff led to the issues with quality of supervision and even potential safety risks.

According to the survey, almost 3.6 million kids are in need of daycare services in Germany.

The study showed that 80 percent of the daycare center managers felt that their work was not appreciated by the politicians.

The survey's questions were answered by 2,628 specialists and managers between November 2017 and December 2018.
