Syria and Iran will sign several contracts in a number of areas in the coming days, a source in the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development told Sputnik on Tuesday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th August, 2018) Syria and Iran will sign several contracts in a number of areas in the coming days, a source in the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development told Sputnik on Tuesday.
According to the source, a delegation led by Amir Amini, the deputy minister of roads and urban development in charge of resource planning and management, arrived in Damascus on Monday morning.
"The delegation's goal is to prepare for the meeting of the Iran-Syria High Joint Economic Committee scheduled to be held in Damascus in the coming days with the participation of Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis and Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri for the final signing of joint agreements," the source said.
An agreement on long-term strategic cooperation in the economic and cultural fields will be signed by the two countries, he added.
Other agreements will relate to banking and customs cooperation, cooperation in the field of industry and communications, electric networks, as well as an agreement on small economic projects and an important agreement on restoring infrastructure in Syria, the source said.
