Syria-Israel Quneitra Border Crossing Reopens After Years-Long Hiatus

The only official border crossing between Israel and Syria, the Quneitra crossing in the Golan Heights, has been reopened after almost a four-year hiatus, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Monday

AL QUNAITRA (Syria) (UrduPoint news / Sputnik - 15th October, 2018) The only official border crossing between Israel and Syria, the Quneitra crossing in the Golan Heights, has been reopened after almost a four-year hiatus, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Monday.

A reopening ceremony, attended by officials, Syrian and Russian military, UN representatives and Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement's medics, was held on the Syrian side of the border crossing. During the ceremony, the Syrian flag was hoisted, and UN convoy passed through the neutral zone to Israel.
