DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2018) The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) delivered on Thursday 17 trucks with humanitarian cargo to the Syrian province of Daraa, the charity organization said on its Twitter blog.
"#Breaking: @SYRedCrescent dispatched a #humanitarian #aid convoy (17 trucks) loaded with 3500 food parcels and 3500 flour bags provided by @WFP, headed to Eastern Rural of #Daraa, #Syria," the SARC wrote in a tweet.
In late July, the Syrian Army concluded an operation to liberate the province of Daraa from terrorists, with the neighboring provinces of As-Suwayda and Quneitra also being controlled by the Syrian government forces.
The majority of cities and settlements as well as the entire region bordering Jordan with Israel-occupied Golan Heights fell under the control of the Syrian army without fighting.
Thanks to the Russian servicemen's diplomatic efforts the militants of illegal armed groups in Syria laid down their arms, received amnesty and defected to the Syrian forces. Radical militants who rejected the truce were transported to the province of Idlib along with their family members.
