GENOA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th May, 2019) Teenagers inspired by a young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg are walking out to streets in cities across over 100 countries, including Italy's Genoa, to call on adults to act to save the planet from the global warming, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Friday.

The event is organized by Fridays For Future the movement that started in 2018 following the call by a Swedish 15-year-old climate activist who protested in front of the country's parliament for three weeks against the lack of climate action.

Today Fridays For Future is calling on schoolchildren across the world to make politicians and adults who are part of the establishment in their countries feel ashamed of their inactivity.

Last time, the event took place on March 15, gathering over 400,000 people in Italy and some 5,000 in Genoa only.
