MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th August, 2018) At least 10 people, including six children, have been killed in two blasts in Afghanistan, media reported on Wednesday, citing local authorities.
According to 1TV broadcaster, one of the blasts took place in the eastern Laghman province. An unexploded shell detonated when the children began playing with it, killing six of them, the broadcaster said citing governor's office.
Another explosion took place on Wednesday in the southern Zabul province, when a car ran into a mine, leaving four people killed and two injured.
Afghanistan has long been suffering from an unstable security situation. The government has been fighting against the Taliban radical movement, which has been waging a war against Kabul for almost two decades, and the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia), which has been operating in Afghanistan since 2015.
