Travel Ban Lifted On Russian Opposition Figure Navalny - Authorities

Russian opposition activist Alexey Navalny is free to travel abroad after repaying a $31,800 debt to a local timber firm at the center of a long legal battle.
"All bans have been lifted. The debtor acted on his obligations in good faith so there are no more reasons to restrict his right to travel outside Russia," the Federal Bailiffs Service told Sputnik.
Navalny was barred earlier on Tuesday from flying to Strasbourg, France, where the European Human Rights Court will soon rule on a lawsuit he filed against Russia. The debt was paid later in the day.
The opposition politician claims that his rights were violated after he was convicted twice in Russia for defrauding a state timber company, Kirovles, of 16 million rubles.
