Trump Rebuts Media Reports Of FBI Probe Into Whether He Worked For Russia

US President Donald Trump on Saturday issued an angry denial of having secretly worked for Russia after American media said that the FBI opened a probe into his behavior back in 2017
The New York Times cited former law enforcement sources and other officials familiar with the matter as saying Friday that counterintelligence investigators had been alarmed by Trump's decision to fire ex-FBI director James Comey, which they suspected was undermining national security.
"Wow, just learned in the Failing New York Times that the corrupt former leaders of the FBI, almost all fired or forced to leave the agency for some very bad reasons, opened up an investigation on me, for no reason & with no proof, after I fired Lyin' James Comey, a total sleaze!" Trump tweeted in protest.
He argued that Americans on both sides of the aisle wanted Comey fired after his poor leadership had left the FBI "in complete turmoil." Trump accused Comey of usurping Justice Department powers and poorly handling the 2016 inquiry into his opponent Hillary Clinton's use of private server for sending sensitive emails.
