Trump Says Statements Fabricated In 'Crazy' Mueller Report

US President Donald Trump denounced in a statement on Friday Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report of the probe into allegations of Trump-Russia collusion, saying the report was written by 18 Trump-hating Democrats and contained fabricated statements
Mueller described in the report ten episodes involving Trump that could amount to the president obstructing justice in the Russia probe. However, US Attorney General William Barr said on Thursday the Justice Department had concluded Mueller's report did not provide enough evidence that Trump committed obstruction of justice offenses.
"Statements are made about me by certain people in the crazy Mueller report, in itself written by 18 angry Democrat Trump haters, which are fabricated and totally untrue," Trump said in a series of Twitter posts.
Trump pointed out that he did not testify before investigators because "it was not necessary" to respond to some statements he believes are untrue and aimed at making a person testifying "look good" and the president "look bad.
"
"This was an illegally started hoax that never should have happened," Trump said.
On Thursday, the Justice Department released a redacted version of Mueller's report, which concluded there was no evidence of Trump-Russia collusion during the 2016 US presidential campaign. The report, however, did not exonerate Trump of obstruction of justice charges and concluded that Russia did try to interfere in the US election.
Russia has repeatedly refuted any claims of interference in the US political system, saying the allegations were made up to excuse the election loss of Trump's opponent as well as deflect public attention from actual instances of election fraud and corruption.
