US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he and First Lady Melania are traveling to the US states of Florida and Georgia to tour the damage caused by Hurricane Michael.

"Will be leaving for Florida and Georgia with the First Lady to tour the hurricane damage and visit with FEMA, First Responders and Law Enforcement.
Maximum effort is taking place, everyone is working very hard. Worst hit in 50 years!" Trump said in a Twitter message.
The death toll from the storm has risen to 18, US media reported, adding that the figure is expected to increase as search efforts continue in the hard-hit town of Mexico Beach, Florida.
Michael made landfall near Mexico Beach, Florida on Wednesday with winds of 155 miles per hour (250 kilometers per hour).
