MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th December, 2018) Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi plans to discuss with Arab states representatives the possibility to invite Syrian President Bashar Assad to the League of Arab States summit, set to be held in the Tunisian capital in March 2019, during the upcoming summit, which will be held in the Lebanese capital of Beirut in January 2019, a source in Essebsi's administration told Sputnik on Wednesday.

The Arab League suspended Syria's membership in 2011 over the beginning of the conflict.

"Tunisian president plans to hold consultations on inviting Assad to the Arab [League] summit, which will be held in Tunis in March, during the economic summit in Lebanon," the source said.
