Tunisian Policeman Injured During Trouble At PSG Friendly

TUNIS, Jan 5 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : A Tunisian police officer suffered serious facial injuries as trouble broke out in the stands during a friendly between local side Club Africain and French giants Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
Tunisia's interior ministry said in a statement on Thursday that the officer "was seriously injured under an eye by a blunt object and was taken to hospital for surgery. He is in a stable condition." The incident happened as violence broke out in the crowd during the second half of the game at the Olympic Stadium in Rades, just outside the capital Tunis.
Around 35,000 fans watched the game which was played to a finish despite police being forced to intervene to restore calm as seats were thrown and fighting erupted among supporters of Club Africain, one of Tunisia's leading sides.
The interior ministry said 43 arrests were made. PSG won the game 3-0 with goals from Christopher Nkunku, Angel di Maria and Jean-Kevin Augustin as new signings Julian Draxler and Giovani Lo Celso made their debuts from the bench in the second half.
