Turkey Must Immediately Withdraw Troops From Northern Regions of Syria - Foreign Minister

NEW YORK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd September, 2021) Turkey must immediately withdraw its troops from the northern regions of Syria, Syrian Foreign Minister Faysal Mikdad told Sputnik.

"I believe that Turkey must immediately withdraw its troops.

The international community, in turn, must support the Syrian efforts on liberating the occupied territories in the north of the country," the minister said, commenting on the recent escalation of tensions in the province of Idlib.

He added that the escalation in Idlib had been caused by the Turkish presence in the region and its support for the militant groups operating there.
